Meet Amber! Our Newest Interior Designer
At Angela Neel Interiors we are continuously improving our services and searching for talented individuals that add value to our business and clients. We would like to announce the arrival of our newest addition to the team, Amber Marshall. Read below to learn more about this budding interior designer in Winter Park, FL.
Amber’s Educational Background
Amber graduated from the University of Florida with an Interior Design Degree. The story of how she ended up finding her passion is a bit funny because her entire freshman year in college she was exploring and leaning towards environmental sciences (biology and chemistry classes). During that time she realized the environmental sciences just wasn’t for her.
Feeling a bit lost, she spoke with a friend in order to seek some guidance and her friend suggested that she look into architecture. Being that Amber’s entire family is very artistically inclined, (artists, musicians, and interior designers), this route seemed natural. Upon looking into the architecture program she came upon the interior design program and a lightbulb went off. The rest is history!
Interviewer: What Is Your Favorite Part About Interior Design?
Amber: I like that is a combination of so many disciplines, such as the Sciences, the Arts, Sociology, Psychological and etc. It is not limited, which appeals to me. I am really interested in the residential aspect mostly, even though in UF all they did was commercial interior design. I knew I wanted to do residential and finding a job that would allow me to do that became my mission. I really enjoy that the people I work with on residential projects are so kind and nice. Residential projects also allow me the time to get to know the client better.
I Graduated in April 2017 and acquired this job in June 2017. I am loving it so far. It is like my second home and I absolutely love the people I work with!
Interviewer: Talk to Me About Penny…
Amber: She runs the place! I love Penny.
Interviewer: Why Did You Choose to Work for Angela Neel Interiors?
Amber: First of all, Angela is the nicest person ever. She is so down to earth, and she truly cares about her clients and the people she works with. She is very unique in what she does. She has the showroom (retail side of design) and also performs the design aspect as well. She is very well rounded and knows what she is doing. She is very trustworthy as well.
Interviewer: How Do You Fit In With Angela’s Work Load?
Amber: I don’t attend the actual installs, but as far as here in the office, I work very closely with Angela in picking out furniture and working with AutoCAD.
Interviewer: What Is Your Design Aesthetic?
Amber: Angela and I have similar styles. I head a bit more towards the contemporary style though. Angela leans more towards a transitional aesthetic. Both of us are minimalists which is great. I like to create spaces that are fresh, organic and timeless.
Interviewer: Where Do You See Yourself 5 Years From Now?
Amber: I don’t like to think too far in the future, I like to live in the present. If I had to guess, I would hope that in 5 years I would be married, living life and still in the design industry. I would love to design my own house one day.
Interviewer: Any Final Notes or Advice For Potential Clients?
Amber: Definitely come to Angela Neel Interiors because Angela is just an all around amazing person and she genuinely cares about what she does! She works overtime to complete projects on time, and she is completely transparent with everyone she works with. She is fun and humorous and you won’t regret working with her.
