How We Approach Interior Design for Small Spaces

A Modern Cottage Remodel

Our team recently remodeled a great 1,100 square foot bungalow in Colonialtown North. The house was originally built in 1947 and had great bones with original wood floors throughout.

The house was originally a 3 bedroom, 1 bath. In order to suit the owner’s needs, we converted the third bedroom into a large master bath suite so the property is now a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Our primary goal throughout the renovation was to retain all the old house charm while adding plenty of modern conveniences and luxe finishes. Grasscloth wallpaper, a large soaking tub, and high-end kitchen appliances are just a few of the upgrades that helped give this older home a new life. The new and improved space feels warm and peaceful. Most importantly, it perfectly suits the client, who describes it as her “little piece of heaven.”

We’re seeing more and more of our clients leaving the burdens of larger homes behind for the joys of smaller spaces – less maintenance, lower costs, and cozy spaces updated with high-end finishes. We call it “Tiny Mighty,” and we’re having so much fun putting our touch soon these spaces.
